Turmeric root is an orange root vegetable that originates from India.
Turmeric has an extremely strong colour, thus can dye pretty much anything it touches.
It has been known to have beautifying properties; as it adds colour to pale skin, vibrancy, softness, smoothness and juiciness to dry skin.
Turmeric root is rich in antioxidants due to the high amounts of Curcumin. Curcumin is a flavonoid in turmeric that makes it responsible for anti-inflammatory effects in the body; when we mix it in with black pepper (piperine) the absorption of curcumin is enhanced by 2,000% !
Because curcumin is fat-soluble, consuming it with fat such as olive oil, coconut oil, flax oil and ghee, may help increase the absorption of curcmin and its magical properties !

Try out a simple face Turmeric mask
1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
1 teaspoon of honey
1 tablespoon of chickpea/ oat flour / almond flour
Mix all ingredients together. Apply a layer on the face and neck.
Leave for up to 20 minutes, rinse with warm water.
Apply rose water as a toner in the end.
